Medical Advisory Board (MAB)
Dr. Luis Pacheco is a Board-Certified medical doctor in both Family Medicine and Sports Medicine. He has received numerous awards and recognition for his accomplishments including recognition from: The American Diabetes Association; The National ‘Head Start’ Educational Program; ‘America’s Top Doctors’; Outstanding Teacher Awards from the University of Southern California School of Medicine; and AOL Digital City Top Doctors USA. Dr. Pacheco is an avid sportsman and enjoys bicycling, swimming, and motor racing. He has coached over 20 American Youth Soccer Association (AYSO) and Club soccer teams and loves working with children. For his support in this arena, Dr. Pacheco received recognition from Congress.
Scientific Advisory Board (SAB)
Dr. Andre Marette is a Professor of Medicine at Faculty of Medicine, serving as Research Chair in the pathogenesis insulin resistance and cardiovascular complications, as well as the Scientific Director for the Institute of Nutrition and Functional Foods at Laval University. Dr. Marette is an internationally renowned expert on the metabolic and cardiometabolic diseases as well as the gut microbiome. He has published over 200 papers, reviews, and book chapters.
Dr. Lawrence J. Cheskin, a board-certified gastroenterologist and weight management expert, is the Director of Johns Hopkins Weight Management Center, and Director of Clinical Research for the Global Obesity Prevention Center at Johns Hopkins University. He has dedicated more than 30 years to research, education, and combating obesity. He has also authored over 180 peer-reviewed publications and six books.
Dr. James Versalovic is Pathologist in Chief, Vice Chair of Pathology & Immunology at Baylor College of Medicine, and Director of the Texas Children’s Microbiome Center. His primary research focus has been the composition and function of the human microbiome, probiotics, and gastrointestinal microbiology. Dr. Versalovic holds two patents and has authored 158 primary manuscripts and 35 book chapters.
