PayPal “Express Checkout”

The PayPal Express Checkout option is available to shoppers on the Plexus store who have previously stored Paypal as a payment method. For those that have  PayPal as a stored payment method a “Pay With” button will appear on product description pages near the "Checkout" button. This allows users to pay with PayPal as their payment option as well as change the funding mechanism for their PayPal payment method if they choose to do so by logging into PayPal.

  • One-time and Subscription orders, including future date subscriptions (PayPal will be automatically saved as the payment method for a subscription if chosen at checkout),
  • Existing subscriptions currently using a different payment method (can be switched to PayPal),
  • All markets, and
  • All customers and Ambassadors.

 

Using PayPal Express Checkout

Here's how the PayPal Express Checkout process works:

Stage  Description
1. If the customer has stored PayPal as a payment method, the PayPal Express Checkout “Pay With” button will be available on a product description page (same page where "Checkout" button appears). The preferred credit card or bank account the user previously assigned to the PayPal payment option will display as the last 4 digits of the card or account number.
2.

When clicked, the Pay With button will navigate the customer to step 3 of checkout and will automatically use the default payment method the customer has selected for their PayPal account.

Storing PayPal as a Payment Method

Here are 2 options to store PayPal as a saved payment method for the Plexus online store:

Option Action

1.

 Go to Plexus Worldwide home > My Account > Payments. Here you can add the PayPal payment method (can be done without placing an order).
2.

Add PayPal during checkout with one of the following options:

  1. While making a one-time order, use the “Save Payment” checkbox in step 3 of checkout, 
  2. Use the “Buy Now” button on the CART page, or
  3. Use the “Buy Now” button on a product description page (see screenshot below).

Viewing PayPal as Saved Payment Method 

Here's how to view PayPal as a saved payment method on Plexus My Account:

Steps Actions
1.

Go to My Account > Payments.

From here, shoppers can manage their PayPal account, view associated subscriptions, and add or remove PayPal as a saved payment method.
2.

Similar to a credit card tile, you can view subscription orders associated with PayPal and can remove PayPal as a saved Payment method after disassociating it from any active subscriptions.

PayPal – Add Cash In Store With App

For Brand Ambassadors or Customers that need alternative payment methods to credit cards or bank-backed debit cards, Plexus recommends using a PayPal Balance account. 

 

About PayPal- Add Cash In Store with the App

Brand Ambassadors or Customers who do not have a bank account to link to their PayPal account can add cash to their account at several retail stores like Walmart or Dollar General. 

PayPal wallet is an available payment method for adding Cash in the Store with the App:

  • Discretionary Orders
  • Subscription Orders
  • Auto-ship Orders

 

Opening a PayPal Balance Account

How to open a PayPal Balance Account: More Information and Agreements on PayPal Balance Account

Step Action
1. Open a PayPal Account on the PayPal Balance Account site.
Notes: When opening an account base it in the United States.
2. Add a mobile phone number, email address will be required for verification purposes.
3. To bypass the need for a bank account or credit card, when the step comes up on creating an account, close out of the window browser and reopen to a new browser and go to the PayPal Login Screen.
4. Login with the email address and password, account verification is required (a SSN or ITIN will be required to verify the account).
Note: It is recommended to download the PayPal application from your app
store.

 

 

Add Cash to your PayPal Balance Account

Steps on how to add cash to your PayPal Balance Account:

Step Action
1. Login into your US PayPal Balance Account (cell phone view). 
2.

Click on "Add Money", on the top left of your home screen, then select "At store, with cash".

3. After selecting, "At store, with cash" it will prompt you with instructions, once finished reading instructions click Continue. A list of store options will show up alongside the fee the store charges, select the store you wish to use, from the sponsored available options. 
4. Once the store of your choice is selected, another set of instructions will be prompted, read the instructions, and click "Generate Barcode". 
This generated barcode can be scanned by the cashier, and will add cash to the provided account (An example barcode shown below). The deposit should show up in your PayPal account in approximately 15 minutes).

Important Note: The newly created barcode will only last one hour. It is recommended to generate the barcode at the chosen store to avoid any issues or having to start the process over again. 

 

 

Order Types Allowing PayPal

Here are answers to what orders can and cannot be placed with PayPal. 

Can PayPal be used: Answer:
For enrollment orders? Yes, as of Fall 2021 PayPal can now be used  for all orders (except split payment orders) including Enrollments.
For orders with split payments between PayPal and another form of payment?

No, PayPal cannot be used to pay for an order with a split payment.
For a Subscription order? Yes as of Fall 2021 PayPal can now be used for all orders including Subscriptions.
For a Canadian NFR order? Yes PayPal can be used on all orders with the exception of split payments.
